Yesterday, students were to read and annotate "We Were There Too;"our anchor text, and complete a Venn diagram using the information on the two characters.  Many were not prepared with this assignment today.

Today's leveled reader introduced another person to your child.  With this being said, tonight's homework will make more sense.

Leveled readers: read and add information from it to last night's reading to create a tri-circled Venn diagram (in the packet).

We are working on a project where every student will ultimately need 24 clean, dry plastic grocery bags.  We do not wish for you to purchase any, part of the effort is for re-purposing these grocery bags. We will take as many as we can get.

The metal cookie sheets assist in organization and manipulation of magnetic fraction tiles.  The two I donated should've been parted with a few years ago.

Report cards went home yesterday.  Please send back the envelope and the comment sheet.

LOL   We go out on snowy days.  Please have your child dress appropriately and tell them fresh air is good for them. Some complain or they'll say "My mother/father doesn't want me to go outside." Moms and Dads, if this is true, please send me a note... signed by their doctor... Ha ha ha ha ha!

  Comfy cozy day is Thursday.

 Field trip form needed.  LD

Thank you for the snow.

Students are, (and have been) able to use text books and their annotations for the comprehension section of their weekly tests.  Because of this, there will no longer be opportunities for "test corrections."   I still will request that anything receiving a 65% or below, be signed and returned.

We start our 5th grade spirit  days this Thursday...scarf day (usually this is most appropriate with February weather).
Fin Friday is this Friday have your child wear green/Shatekon spirit clothing

I am looking for some metal cookie sheets.  We have purchased magnetic fraction tiles for the students to use.  A cookie sheet is a perfect size for manipulation/storage of these tiles.  If you have any you are looking to get rid of or just do not use, please consider donating them to Shatekon fifth grade.
Thank you.
